Difficult & Costly to Repair

We purchased this dishwasher after much deliberation, mostly based on a positive reviews from friends and family. It has been ok for the past six years. No real complaints, but not really wow-ed by it either. Dishes come out spotty and not fully dry, silverware doesn't always fully get cleaned when using the upper third rack, and buttons are sensitive to the touch. Overall, it did the job it was supposed to though and got the dishes clean while being relatively quiet. Recently the display went dark and we've been unable to use the dishwasher. Appliance repair shop diagnosed it as having a bad control board. This was replaced and the dishwasher still didn't work. Then it was diagnosed as having a bad electronic control board. That part was replaced and now it is reading an error code E-01. At this point we are $500 into trying to repair a $1000 dishwasher that is only 6 years old. I understand that repairs happen. This type of costly repair after 6 years makes me unlikely to want to replace the machine with another Bosch.

7 years old and going strong

We purchased and installed our Bosch diswasher over 7 years ago and it still works almost as well as it did in 2014. The only problems we experienced with were both recall issues. One was related to the power cord and the other was a design flaw in the door spring mechanism, which eventually came apart. Both issues were corrected free of charge and with relative speed. Overall, we are still very pleased with our choice.

Error E09, head pump died in 7 yrs

We bought our dishwasher few yrs ago (Nov 2015) due to rave reviews on performance & reliability for Bosch dishwashers. Unfortunately, after only about 5-yrs of usage, our diswasher started to give E09 error. We checked this out with Bosch website & local appliance repair tech (for 2nd opinion), learned from both that our head pump is dead ! It's part of the main assembly to to fix it'll be $270 for parts + $350 for labor - total $620. Disappointed that we'll need to basically throw away our Bosch dishwasher after just 5 years, since it's not worth putting $620 in repairs for a product that we bought for around $900. I feel a good product should consider ease of repair/maintainence, & this is a terrible design choice to integrate heat pump with main assembly, rendering the appliance useless in case of failure. From our experience, it does not feel worthwhile to spend extra $$ for a Bosch product, we could've had 6-yrs dishwasher life from almost any brand (in fact out Whirpool before this lasted 12 yrs & was way cheaper). So, I recommend not to fall for perceived quality & marketing hype of this brand, makes not difference. In fact, was shorter lifespan than a product that was even 30-40% cheaper !

Works great after 5+ years

Had this Bosch dishwasher installed in October 2015 and it is still quiet and most importantly cleans the dishes spectacularly. There have been zero problems with it. I am so pleased.

Disappointed in quality

There are a lot of things that I like about this diswasher. I like that it is quiet, the 'Crystal Dry' system, the 3rd rack and the stainless steel interior and exterior. After that it is disappointment. The 1st rack configuration is difficult to load anything other than plates or flat pans. The filter has to be cleaned frequently, which though easy is inconvienent. The drain pump was replaced under warranty the first year we purchased the washer and 3 years later it needs to be replaced again. After labor charges it will be approx. $200 repair. I was told by sales person that Bosch would last longer than any other brand. (10 years vs. 6 years)
